Located just a stone's throw away from Katherine town centre, prepare to meet some friendly animals and get to know the incredible stockmen and women out at Katherine Outback Experience. This unique experience will give you the opportunity to learn about the art of horse starting and gain insights into the methods and techniques used by the team to train young horses for life on the station. You'll get to witness first-hand the bond between the horses and their riders and get the opportunity to try your hand at some of the basics. You'll also delve into the world of working dogs and learn about the intricate relationship between the teams and their trusty canine companions. See first-hand the training, herding and incredible skills of these four-legged partners and how they play a vital role in managing livestock.
This experience runs with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 20 people.
Despite having a large indoor arena, in cases of extreme weather, some changes may occur to the itineraries. This can happen with little notice so please be prepared for modifications to experiences. Where the provider is forced to cancel an experience, you will be provided the option to reschedule, a voucher valid for three years or refund.
This is a very interactive experience with the station animals. As an operating farm, guests can expect to get a little dusty! Closed-in shoes essential for those wishing to working with the horses and dogs.
